Nasan Tur

Nasan Tur is an artist living and working in Berlin. Through a diverse practice, ranging from sculpture, drawing, video and photography to perforance and installation, Nasan examines social conditions, probing the relationship between production, value, modes of communication and their relation to power.
Nasan has exhibited extensively both within and beyond Germany, with recent solo exhibitions at: Berlinische Galerie - Museum of Modern Art, Berlin (2021); Splinter In My Eye, Dirimart, Istanbul (2017); Oldenburger Kunstverein, Oldenburg (2017); Fondazione Adolfo Pini, Milan (2017); and Kunst Haus Wien, Vienna (2016). Nasan’s work has also been included in important group exhibitions, including: Documenta 14 (2017); Bucharest Biennial (2016); Palais de Tokyo, Paris (2015); Fondazione MAXXI, Rome (2015); Centre Pompidou, Paris (2015); Museo d’Arte Moderna, Bologna (2015); Martin Gropius Bau, Berlin (2014); Istanbul Modern (2013); and The Whitechapel Gallery, London (2013).
In 2012 Nasan was the recipient of the Berlin Senate’s Grant for Visual Arts and in 2014 received the Villa Massimo Award given by the Deutsche Akademie Rome, Italy.
Hessische Kulturstiftung, Germany
Acme has managed a residency programme on behalf of Hessische Kulturstiftung since 1995, located on Lyal Road, Bow, E3. Residencies are awarded to artists for a period of 12 months, and the size of the accommodation enables the artist to bring their family or dependents for the length of residency. Based in a residential area populated by many artists, the house is well situated for access to other arts spaces and central London. Residencies are open to all artists from Germany. Applications and selection are dealt with directly by Hessische Kulturstiftung.
