Aargauer Kuratorium Residency

Bodo Maier, born in 1985, is a trumpeter and composer based in Basel. He has dealt intensively with Jazz and improvisation since a young age. He graduated successfully with a Master of Arts in Music Education at Hochschule Luzern - Musik in 2011 and with a Master of Arts in Music Performance at Hochschule der Künste Bern in 2019.

Bodo's interest in the diversity of world music, and has taken part in numerous international activities. He toured with Fischermanns Orchestra through Europe, the Balkans, Russia, Colombia and Bolivia, Egypt and Emirates with four major tour movie productions. In 2015 he started a collaboration with guitarist Tjoe Man Cheung. They recorded two albums and toured twice in Hong Kong and China. In 2020 the album Approaching Change appeared on Berlin label QFTF with Bodo's quintet and his own compositions.

Aargauer Kuratorium, Switzerland

Aargauer Kuratorium has worked in partnership with Acme to develop and provide a London-based artists' residency since 1999. Based in Bow, E3, the residency enables a wide spectrum of practitioners connected with the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, to undertake two six month long work/live residencies per year. Artist application and selection are conducted directly by Aargauer Kuratorium.
