Rosslynd Piggott

Australia Council for the Arts Residency
2013/14

Rosslynd Piggott’s practice encompasses and combines painting, drawing, photography, hand-blown glass and installation. Enlisting a sophisticated materiality, technique and sense of colour, Rosslynd’s works recall the fragile, ephemeral qualities observable in the natural world to signal the inner realm of emotion, memory and imagination. Slow and deliberate, her work makes palpable that which lies just beyond our tangible reality.

Rosslynd's work has been exhibited widely since 1980, in solo exhibitions at the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2019; Sutton Gallery, Melbourne, 2006 – 2019; Museo del Vetro, Murano, Italy, 2017; Venice Art Factory, Venice, Italy, 2016, and in group exhibitions at QAGOMA, Brisbane, 2017; Murano Glass Museum, Venice, 2016; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2015; Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth, 2014; National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, 2013; New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, New York, 2013; The British School at Rome, Italy, 2011; Heide Museum of Modern Art, Melbourne, 2011.
