Margarida Gouveia is a visual artist from Torres Vedras, working within the field of photography and video. Her practice explores connections and tensions between two- and three-dimensionality.

Margardia studied photography at the Royal College of Art, London. Her recent exhibitions include Other Ports, curated by Clara Brito, Porto, 2020, Pontes Aladas, curadoria de Adelaide Ginga, Consulado de Portugal, Macau e Hong Kong, 2019, Shifthing Boundaries, curated by Ingo Taubhorn - House of Photography at Deichtorhallen, Hamburg, 2017 and O Que Eu Sou, curated by Luiza Teixeira de Freitas e Inês Grosso, Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology, Lisbon, 2017.

Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian

The Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian is a Portuguese philanthropic private institution whose statutory aims are in the fields of arts, charity, education and science. Created by a clause in Calouste Sarkis Gulbenkian’s will, the Foundation’s statutes were approved in 1956. The Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian partnered with Acme between 2008 – 2010 to provide residencies that were located in East London. Application and selection was undertaken directly by the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian.
