Joke Lanz is a Swiss musician based in Berlin. Joke is a pioneer of the independent electronic scene, and his work spans improvised and experimental music, noise and turntablism, performance art and musique concrète. In addition to projects for theatre, film and radio, Joke produces installations and objects and is the founder and original member of electronic musical trio Sudden Infant.

Joke has collaborated with artists including: Shelley Hirsch, Peter Kowald, Christian Marclay, Olaf Rupp, Astro, Z’EV, Ken Vandermark, Johannes Bauer, Lasse Marhaug, Jorge Sanchez-Chiong, Rudolf Eb.er, Dave Phillips, Strotter Inst, Christian Weber, Charlotte Hug, Audrey Chen, Mat Pogo, Ute Wassermann, DJ Olive, Sophie Agnel, dieb13, eRikM, Martin Tétreault, Eklekto Ensemble, Alexandre Babel, Christian Wolfarth, Jonas Kocher, Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Mette Rasmussen, Thomas John Bacon, GX Jupitter-Larsen, The New Blockaders, Almut Kühne, Martina Berther, amongst others.

Joke has released records with Schimpfluch, Tochnit Aleph, Blossoming Noise, RRR, Entr’acte, Artware, Klanggalerie, PAN, iDeal Recordings, Harbinger Sound, Nihilist Records, Voodoo Rhythm Records, Some Bizarre, and Cubus Records.

Aargauer Kuratorium, Switzerland

Aargauer Kuratorium has worked in partnership with Acme to develop and provide a London-based artists' residency since 1999. Based in Bow, E3, the residency enables a wide spectrum of practitioners connected with the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, to undertake two six month long work/live residencies per year. Artist application and selection are conducted directly by Aargauer Kuratorium.
