Mette Stausland is a Norwegian artist working exclusively within the tradition of drawing. After training as a dancer she transferred her interests to visual art following an injury that halted her career in dance. Stausland studied Fine Art at Vestlandets Kunstakademi, Bergen, Norway and at the Kunstakademiet Stockholm, followed by the Jan van Eyck Academie, Maastricht, Holland.

Mette has exhibited throughout Europe, with solo exhibitions at Galerie Lelong, Zürich, Switzerland (2007); Galerie Rosenberg, Zürich, Switzerland (2014); and Kristiansan Kunsthall, Christianssand, Norway (2015). Important group exhibitions include Auswahl 15, Aargauer Kunsthaus, Aarau (2015); Kunsthal Charlottenborgin, Copenhagen and Institut d'art contemporain Villeurbanne/Rhône-Alpes (IAC) in Villeurbanne. Mette’s work resides in the collection of the Sørlandets Art Museum in Kristiansand, Norway.

Aargauer Kuratorium, Switzerland

Aargauer Kuratorium has worked in partnership with Acme to develop and provide a London-based artists' residency since 1999. Based in Bow, E3, the residency enables a wide spectrum of practitioners connected with the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, to undertake two six month long work/live residencies per year. Artist application and selection are conducted directly by Aargauer Kuratorium.
