Julie Usel is a London based jewellery designer from Geneva. Julie is a materials led practitioner, she works with materials with which there is no prior knowledge established, inviting experimentation and chance into the artistic process.
Julie’s work has been shown internationally, including Design Week Mexico (2017), The Goldsmiths' Centre (London, 2017), Galerie Marzee (Nijmegen, 2012), Studio 2017 (Sydney, 2012), Museum Bellerive (Zürich, 2012), Gallery Deux Poissons, (Tokyo, 2010), SO Gallery (London, 2010), MUDAC (Lausanne, 2008), Talente (München, 2008).
The Swiss Federal Office of Culture Residency
The Swiss Federal Office of Culture partnered with Acme between 2009 – 2014 to provide residencies that were located firstly at Butlers Wharf then in East London. Application and selection was undertaken directly by the Swiss Federal Office of Culture. For more information visit bak.admin.ch/bak
