Arcana and Open Studios at Billet Road Studios

We're pleased to welcome visitors to Acme’s Billet Road Studios in Walthamstow as part of this year’s Walthamstow Art Trail. Opened last year, Billet Road is Acme’s newest studio building: a creative hub supporting a diverse community of artists and practitioners across four floors of self-contained studios.

The studios are home to a wide range of disciplines, including painting, drawing, lens-based media, sculpture, installation, performance, wearable objects, curating, printmaking, and interdisciplinary research-led practice. Together, the artists at Billet Road reflect the breadth and dynamism of contemporary artistic production taking place within this corner of Walthamstow.

Visitors are invited to explore the group exhibition Arcana, encounter works in progress, and engage directly with the artists shaping the studios’ creative ecosystem.

Presented on the ground floor and curated by Rosalba Riscatto, Arcana brings together the practices of 18 artists who, through diverse media, share an interest in the agency of materials and the processes that shape them. The exhibition considers transformation, manipulation, decay, and reconfiguration as generative acts, inviting audiences to reflect on the mysteries embedded within processes of change.
