Scott Redford

Australia Council for the Arts Residency
2009

Scott Redford makes sculptures and paintings that refer in both style and content to the history of American modernism. Scott’s work engages with contemporary surf culture and the ideas of glossy, post-Pop consumerism. His curatorial and writing projects encompass a wide range of topics and he has a particular interest in the reception of Australian contemporary art internationally. During his Australia Council for the Arts London residency Scott researched and partially wrote Changed Circumstances: Learning from London, which was originally published in Broadsheet Vol 38.2, 2009.

Scott’s recent exhibitions include BAD Boys - Mission Impossible FireWorks Gallery, Brisbane, 2019, Small Mercies, FireWorks Gallery, Brisbane, 2018, Sydney Contemporary, Carriageworks Sydney, 2017, Fun + Games = FireWorks Gallery, Brisbane, 2015, and Scott Redford - Burn Rate / Parallel World, 11m2, Berlin, 2014
