Luca Martin is an opera and concert singer, and composer from Switzerland. He has performed as a guest soloist at the Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf; Oper der Stadt, Cologne; Nationaltheater Mannheim; Theater Bielefeld; Theater Dortmund, Staatstheater Mainz, and Staatstheater Kassel, among others. His compositions include “Meditation für Violine solo” which he developed at the Elektronisches Studio Basel with the composer Guy Rebel (IRCAM/Paris), the opera “Passion Jo”, commissioned by the Fachausschuss Basel/Baselland, which was first performed at the Ackermannshof Basel.

Luca won first prize for his work “nihil”, written for a cappella choir, at the composition competition Styria Cantat in Austria (2014). His secular mass, “Missa de homine” was first performed by Cantate Basel in the Martinskirche Basel (2016). His four orchestral pieces, “death dances4all”, were in the final of the first international Basel Composition Competition and were first performed by the Chamber Orchestra, Basel (2017).

Aargauer Kuratorium, Switzerland

Aargauer Kuratorium has worked in partnership with Acme to develop and provide a London-based artists' residency since 1999. Based in Bow, E3, the residency enables a wide spectrum of practitioners connected with the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, to undertake two six month long work/live residencies per year. Artist application and selection are conducted directly by Aargauer Kuratorium.
