Juliet Lea

Australia Council for the Arts Residency
2004

Juliet Lea is an Australian artist based in Perth. Mainly working in large-scale installation, as well as collage and performance art, Juliet investigates language and relates how we attempt to invent the world through concepts and materials. As of 1993, she has worked in a collaborative partnership with Alwin Reamillo as ‘Reamillo and Juliet’. Together they have exhibited worldwide – in the Philippines, Thailand, Japan, Italy, Cuba, Switzerland, and Brazil.

Juliet’s politically-informed practice has been the subject of two major solo shows in Australia: in Artspace, Sydney (2001), and Canberra Contemporary Art Space (2002).

Australia Council for the Arts
