Landis & Gyr Stiftung Residency
Christine Streuli is a Swiss-born contemporary artist who lives and works in Berlin. She is known for large-format, colorful paintings composed of several layers. Christine rarely works with the brush but sprinkles, pours and sprays paint onto canvas, employing a variety of printing techniques and using rakes, stencils, and other objects. Her works are usually characterized by room-filling installations where the paintings reach beyond the edges of canvas and extend over the walls, floor and ceiling.
Christine's works have been exhibited worldwide, including the Venice Biennale in 2007, and the Biennale of Sydney in 2014. She has had solo exhibitions at Aargauer Kunsthaus, Kunsthaus Langenthal, Kunstmuseum Luzern, Kunstmuseum Bonn, the Haus am Waldsee in Berlin and in the Berlinischen Galerie. Christine is represented by Sfeir-Semler, Hamburg and Beirut, Gallery Filomena Soares, Lisbon, and Anglim Gilbert Gallery, San Francisco.
