David John Beesley
David John Beesley’s work explores theories of critical realism within aesthetic relations: critical realism takes a stands against an anthropocentric view of ontology, holding a critical account of epistemology. Human nature is to be scrutinised against capitalism, and art holds fast as an explicit tool to expose subjugation in its many applications. Critical realism seeks emancipation in theory and practice and life and work; to counteract the anthropocene is our greatest challenge as a species, and a form of communication needs to be accessible to all, to cut through class boundaries and act as a rallying call for a discourse that understands emotional intelligence and critical thinking are part of the holistic tools needed for the job at hand.
David is currently studying for his PhD at the University of Reading, his films can be seen here.
