Silvan Schmid is a trumpet player based in Zurich, Switzerland, who performs both collaboratively and as a solo artist. Silvan is a member of the Gamut Kollektiv, whose purpose to explore and create a fruitful breeding ground for ideas, experiments and new processes. In addition to the annual Gamut Festival they run the label Edition Gamut, and organize different concert series in Zurich.
Silvan has collaborated with artists such as Eddé Khouri/Glanzmann/Schmid, Alex Riva, Amberg/Schmid, Amereller/Schmid/Wheatley, Bertrand Denzler, Lingens/Punkt/Schmid, Hum, Schmid/Svosve/Scott/Prévost, KvG's Bottom Orchestra, Neues aus Kungusien, Billiger Bauer and Hans Kennel's Wood&Brass.
Aargauer Kuratorium, Switzerland
Aargauer Kuratorium has worked in partnership with Acme to develop and provide a London-based artists' residency since 1999. Based in Bow, E3, the residency enables a wide spectrum of practitioners connected with the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, to undertake two six month long work/live residencies per year. Artist application and selection are conducted directly by Aargauer Kuratorium.
