Romeo Gongora is a Canadian-Guatemalan visual artist and PhD researcher in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London. Since 2008, he has conducted major collaborative projects that interact with the social sphere, integrating politics and pedagogy and the practice of performance.
Romeo has been the recipient of several grants and has shown his work at the Musée d’art de contemporain de Montréal (Canada), HISK (Belgium), Centre of Art, Toruń (Poland) Centre Makan (Jordan) and Leonard & Bina Ellen Gallery (Canada). He has been an artist in residence at the Rijksakademie (Netherlands 2007 - 2008) and Kunstlerhaus Bethanien (Germany 2009).
Canada Council Residency
The Canada Council for the Arts partnered with Acme between 20012 – 2016 to provide residencies that were located at Bow Quarter in E3. Application and selection was undertaken directly by the Canada Council for the Arts.
