Fredrik Soderberg

Iaspis
2011/12

Fredrik Söderberg is known for his complex paintings which feature precise and often symmetric compositions about spiritualism, mysticism, esoterism and the occult. Created in moments of meditative flow, the act of painting becomes an exploration of the unknown and intangible. Fredrik’s works reflect on the contemporary context being severely marked by consumption and a fixation with the private and superficial self.

Fredrik’s works have been exhibited in the National Historical Museum, Stockholm (2011); the Swedish Institute, Paris (2010); Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall (2010). He contributed to the book Hilma af Klint: Nine Contemporary Responses, published by Moderna Museet and Koenig Books in connection with the Venice Biennale in 2013. His works are held in several private and public collections, including Moderna Museet and Magasin 3 Stockholm Konsthall.
