Franziska Baumann
Landis & Gyr Stiftung Residency
2022
Franziska Baumann is a contemporary artist, vocalist, performer and composer in many art forms, including free improvisation, experimental new opera, sound-art, interdisciplinary audio-visual projects. As a soloist, she works at the intersection of voice, live electronic processing with gestural sensor interfaces and spatialised sound. Her music emerges outside specific genres and draws from the human voice's archaic, experimental, and stylistically broad expressive possibilities.
Franziska is eager to expand compositional methods and scenic considerations into new innovative forms of notation, specific verbal instructions, and sound graphics into movement impulses for vocalists combined with traditional notation. She will also incorporate scenic elements in gestural props with live electronics. Franziska will use her time in London to work with local musicians.
