Chelsea BA Award
2010/11
Amy Gee’s practice explores aspects of ethnography and the observation and documentation of social history, considering the limitations, potential failures and inaccuracies of such forms of documentation. Her works often focus on past events, forgotten traditions and re-enactment, using video, sound, installations and events to suggest multiple opinions and alternative narratives.
Amy studied Fine Art at University of the Arts London followed by a master's degree in Cultural History, Memory and Identity at the University of Brighton.
Chelsea BA Studio Award
The Chelsea BA Award was a partnership between Acme and Chelsea College (University of the Arts, London), funded by Chelsea Arts Club Trust and Acme, between 2009-17. Aiming to provide a bridge between art school and professional practice, the award included a bursary, rent-free studio space and mentoring programme. Recipients of Acme’s Early Career Awards Programme work from shared studios in order to encourage an environment of peer support and critical dialogue.
