Hessische Kulturstiftung resident Leda Bourgogne's open studio
On Friday, 21 February, our Hessische Kulturstiftung residency artist Leda Bourgogne opened her work/live studio for an informal event marking the end of her residency with Acme
The Cultural Foundation of Hesse (Hessische Kulturstiftung) provides work/live studios in London, New York and Paris for 12 month residency scholarship recipients. Residencies are awarded to visual artists who were born in Hesse, have a permanent residence there, or hold a diploma from a Hessian art academy.
Leda Bourgogne (born 1989 in Vienna, Austria) completed her studies of Fine Arts at the Städelschule Frankfurt am Main. In 2017, she won the Graduate Prize of Städelschule/Portikus and received various scholarships from foundations like Stiftung Kunstfonds Bonn or Hessische Kulturstiftung. Her works – which include object-like imagery as well as poetry, performance, drawing, sculpture, and installation – find their starting point in an interest in psychoanalysis, philosophy, literature, film, and feminist discourses.
Leda participated in exhibitions at Westfälischer Kunstverein in Münster, Kunstverein Braunschweig, MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt a.M., Kunsthalle Bremerhaven, and the Helmhaus in Zurich, among others.
Huge thanks to Leda and to everyone who joined us!
