Patrick Hartigan

Patrick Hartigan is an artist and writer. He works primarily in painting, drawing and moving image to combine imagery from childhood nostalgia and historical artists. Patrick is a regular contributor for The Saturday Paper and his first book, Offcuts was published by Gazebo Books in 2019.
Patrick’s work has been presented in numerous exhibitions including, Solitaire, Tarrawarra Museum of Art, Melbourne, 2014; Octopus 13 – on this day alone, Gertrude Contemporary, Melbourne, 2013; avoiding myth & message: Australian artists and the literary world, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2009; I Walk the Line: New Australian Drawing, Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney, 2009. His work is held in the permanent collections of The Art Gallery of Western Australia, Perth; Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki, Auckland; Monash University Museum of Art, Melbourne; The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, Sydney; The National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. He is a lecturer at the National Art School, Sydney.

Since 1992, the Australia Council for the Arts has partnered with Acme to provide London work/live residency opportunities for Australian visual artists. These residencies are located at Acme's Fire Station in Poplar, E14. Application and selection is undertaken directly by the Australia Council for the Arts.
