Kirsten Haydon

Kirsten Haydon is a New Zealand-born, Melbourne based artist who specialises in enamelling processes for constructed jewellery. Kirsten was the first jeweller to take part in the Artists to Antarctica Programme (2004) which has provided enduring inspiration for her practice and informed the publication, Micromosaic: Antarctic Landscapes (2012) which explores this experience further through research of the continent’s history and the experience of past visitors through the notion of the souvenir.
Kirsten's work has been showcased internationally at Jewelers’ Werk Galerie, Washington, 2012; Objectspace, Auckland, 2012; The National, Christchurch, 2012; Gallery Funaki, Melbourne, 2011. Kirsten was the recipient of the Lynne Kosky Jewellery Award, Craft Awards in 2017 and has works held in public and private collections including Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris, Antarctica New Zealand, Christchurch, Te Papa Tongarewa and The Dowse, Wellington.

Since 1992, the Australia Council for the Arts has partnered with Acme to provide London work/live residency opportunities for Australian visual artists. These residencies are located at Acme's Fire Station in Poplar, E14. Application and selection is undertaken directly by the Australia Council for the Arts.
