Monica Studer and Christoph van den Berg are Swiss artists based in Basel. The pair have worked collaboratively in New Media since 1991, and on internet-based projects since 1996. In 2020 they were the recipients of the Pax Art Award for Swiss digital art.
Studer / van den Berg have held numerous solo exhibitions, including: Findings (curated by Rudolf Velhagen), GSH Wettingen, Switzerland (2017); Passage Park #4: A Hotspot Shack, Helvetia Art Foyer, Basel, Switzerland (2016); Sind wir schon in Echtzeit, Städtische Galerie Nordhorn, Germany (2015); Transit 504, Nicola Krupp Gallery, Basel, Switzerland (2014). Recent group exhibitions include: Perspectives, Musée d'art de Pully, Switzerland (2020); Gipfeltreffen, Helvetia Art Foyer, Basel, Switzerland (2020); Gebändigt? Landis & Gyr Stiftung, Switzerland
The Landis & Gyr foundation awards studio scholarships to Swiss artists and cultural professionals in London, Budapest, Sofia and Zug. Its London-based residency partnership with Acme was established in 1987, and provides six month long work/live opportunities for ten Swiss artists per year. Artists are selected for the programme directly by Landis & Gyr Stiftung and must demonstrate a track record of achievement in their field. Over two hundred visual artists, curators, writers, musicians and composers have benefitted from the programme. Residencies are based in Stepney, E1 and are available to Swiss residents only
