Lotta Antonsson is a Swedish artist working primarily with photographic material. Lotta’s recent work recalls her fascination with the imagery of the late 1960s and 1970s, blurring documentary and fiction to suggest the merger of social and sexual revolutions. From a process that utilises the techniques of collage and montage emerges a personal way of looking at the ephemeral nature of things, whether printed matter (magazines, books) or natural objects (shells, minerals, driftwood). Lotta’s analogue cuts and repetitions seize upon the allegorical potential of image fragments, freeing fashion and erotic photography in an exploration into the gendered side of this clichéd history.

Recent exhibitions include: Exercise en forme noir, ALP/Peter Bergman, Stockholm (2008); Experiments in Black, The Regency Town House, Hove (2010);Tre fotografer. Tre tendenser., Marabou Parken, Stockholm (2012),Photography is Magic, part of the Daegu Biennial of Photography, South Korea (2012); and Det synliga, Artipelag, Stockholm (2014).
