Rickard Sollman
Iaspis
2002
Rickard Sollman is a Swedish artist based in Stockholm. Rickard approaches his practice with precision and deliberateness, creating paintings that have a strong relationship to minimalist works of the 1950s and 60s. He works slowly, building up images through repetitive action, producing a painting that is both a surface and a layered record of all the time spent within it – either making or looking.
Recent solo exhibitions include: Passage, Hedvig Eleonora Kyrka, Stockholm; Total Zero, Galleri Flach, Stockholm (2013); Gävle Konstcentrum, Gävle (2009); Galleri Flach+Thulin, Stockholm (2008). Rickard has also exhibited as part of group shows at the Malmö Konstmuseum, Handarbetets Vänner, Stockholm, and Västerås Konstmuseum among others.
